Toolkit for consulting on airspace change

The ICCAN Toolkit for consulting on airspace change is a website that offers practical ideas as airports and other organisations seek to consult with impacted groups, local communities and other airspace users about changes to flight paths and the noise implications their proposals may have.

The Toolkit should be used predominantly by sponsors of Level 1 airspace changes to plan for public consultations under Step 3A of the Civil Aviation Authority’s CAP1616 process. It will also be relevant to some Level 2 changes, and the principles in it should equally apply.

The Independent Commission on Civil Aviation noise ceased operating on 30 September 2021.

You can read the Government’s statement on ICCAN’s closure and Head Commissioner Rob Light’s letter to the Minister to learn more.

Any further questions about ICCAN’s work or aviation noise should be directed to the Department for Transport.
