Simon has worked at Mott MacDonald since 2012, most recently as Technical Principal in acoustics. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the design, installation and operation of sound systems and acoustics, and worked across a range of industries including broadcast, construction and theatre. Simon is a Fellow of the Institute of Acoustics and former Chair of their Education Committee. He previously worked for Pinewood Studios reviewing Future Airspace proposals, as a residential developer Cavanna Homes on former Plymouth Airport land, and most recently for Heathrow Airport on technical aspects of their Noise Insulation Policy, but has stepped away from UK civil aviation related work, including Heathrow, following his appointment as an ICCAN commissioner. He is also a light aircraft pilot and glider/motor-glider instructor.
